    Default Drivers

So who nowadays is producing a driver for 4-6amps use. Is there still a shortage of these or has that been solved.

... I've developed drivers for up to 10 Amps (with 'expansions' up to 40 Amps with heavy cooling -- target is 100 Amps), but not selling them comercially ...

I Just wish they had beam suppression, the shutter idea won;t work for me.

The question was if the shortage was solved. The problem was that once in a while a hobbyist jumps on the driver development train and comes with a driver and half a year later he his vanished and no longer can deliver anything. I got sick and tired of this game and eventually i decided to go with a real company , spend 4K and let them develop my own driver for my own modules. So yes problem solved for me. But since then allot have changed and we have BBE (vladimir) Lasertack (alex) and Lasershowparts (dave) Phil pritzler and the new guy. Oh and OPT of course (mateusz).
All drivers that are available now are pretty much the same with a fet that controls the current and min and max can be set by pots. The downside of all these drivers that when powering just one diode for example a blue or green and the input voltage is a standard 12V powersuplly the Fet develops a shitload of heat. I requested a stepdown so we don,t have that problem.

Below the links of the guys i mentioned:

BBE : couldn,t find them on ebay anymore (maybe vanished?)

I have used a couple of the Wavelength Electronics PLD-5000 diode drivers sold by Junktronix on ebay for $85.98.
They are great with good fast modulation and are very stable. I especially like the internal relay that shorts out the lased diode when not outputting current. The case can be discarded and heatsink can be removed to make it much smaller for mounting on your platform/ heatsink.
He has sold 86 so far, can"t guess how many he has left.

    Cheers
