    Default aixiz glass collimators lens

any of you guys tried the glass collimator lens with there housings
wow what a difference they make just got mine today and put them in my dual red because the plastic one kept distorting at >200mw the new lens seem to give out quite a bit more power as they dont seem to clip the beam like the plastic ones and the beam spot is better too below are two pics laser1 was plastic lens laser2 glass lens dont think the pic really show the difference but i put them up anyhow
    they work well for me

I just bought 10 from aixiz on ebay. They're $3 a piece which is not all that bad considering what other laser components cost.

Considering how red things look behind the plastic lens I'd say there are some significant losses, hopefully the glass lenses will give more power and better beam characteristics.

ohh they do ok, its a better beam the bottom pic is the glass lens and the beam spot is a little better its a shame i dont have a power meter to measure it but i bet its a good 10% or more the whole lenght of the beam seems more visable than it did before
ohh and they are ar coated unlike the plastic ones

Andy was telling me that his friend replaced the plastic with a glass lens and power when up 50mw from 300 to 350 or something like that.

beam diameter is much the same as the plastic ones maybe a tiny bit smaller 2.8mm beam spot is a little better as well its just a lot better at letting the power through
