If I remember correctly, the music for the demo shows is limited to like 15-30 seconds at the beginning of the song and 15-30 at the end just to help the user identify the version and then source their own somewhere.

You had Windows 8 on that laptop at SELEM though and were having the same difficulty then, weren't you, Rodman?
As background for other LSX users, Rodman had an EtherDream that at least he and I were having trouble seeing on the network (I was running Win 7), but the ED inventor himself (J4CB0) was not. We had nine other EDs at SELEM and no issues for any of us using them once we ensured the firmware was at the appropriate level on each of them. J4CB0's presence was most fortuitous as he had his PC ready to do updates on whichever ED's were lacking the appropriate firmware.
As for Win 10, no thank you! I'll leave Win 7 when they take it from my cold dead hands. In my youth, I was wooed by MS Temptresses such as Windows ME and Vista, but I cast out those evil demons before they could infiltrate my hard drive. Windows 10 looks to be a more fair matron, but its potential to become a subscription model is still enough to give me pause.
Rodman - I'll drop you a PM regarding both your issues in a few minutes.

"Help, help, I'm being repressed!"
Yup. Been on Steam for several years now. Up to something like 140 games in the library, but I only play a handful of them. Currently replaying Fallout: New Vegas in preparation for the release of Fallout 4 this fall. (And yes, I've already pre-ordered it!)
Love how you can get a ton of games for very little money when they run their special Steam Sales.
And for the record, Steam runs just fine under Windows 10. Still having problems with hard system crashes when watching Youtube videos in Chrome, but hopefully they are working on that...

I decided to give 10 a try on my laptop using the original Win 7 key since I put a different version on it. That lasted all of 2 days. I'll keep my privacy, better looking OS and the OS that is faster. Try again Microsoft. I'd take Vista over 10.
Yeah that's what put me off Windows 10, potential lack of privacy. Too much data collected plus anything that runs apps, gives permission for the app developers to extract personal data. Essentially your laptop / pc is becoming a source of data for anyone who can write an app to extract it.
To me this is just MS coming up with a solution for running Windows everywhere. Personally, I don't need that. Prefer to keep phone and desktop separate and secure.
Seems to me Windows is becoming bloat ware, a bit like many AV systems did until customers started a bit of a backlash over unnecessary features that slowed the pc down. Staying Win 7 for me. Does everything I want without compromising my security or privacy.
I don't mind any of that. I just had their UI that is designed to be viewed on 7" screens. I ticks me off that I have to scroll through a couple pages to view what should fit in 1/4 of my screen. I expect this nonsense to be temporary until someone replaces their utilities with decent ones. On my laptop, Win10 starts up very fast, though. It just has a normal hard drive and I can get to my logon screen in about 8 seconds. But, then after about 30 minutes I hear the fan come on and check my processes and see all kinds of nonsense happening... like Windows Defender kicking it while it defrags my harddrive. WTF?
Was at the used computer place yesterday. Scuttlebutt is that most graphics card drivers for 10 are not ready for prime time. Results in systems lockups. They said MS made changes in the graphics structure at the last minute and that the hardware guys are playing catch-up with the drivers and testing.
They basically said wait for 10.1 unless you need to be a early adopter..
Both tech guys did comment that 10 was far better then 8 in most respects.
I'll wait like I always do, although the primary non-laser llaptop runs eight and has a dying hinge, which means I may see 10 sooner then I thought.
I'd trust these two, they truly make their money off fixing computers in a small Podunk town
.
Seven is pretty much it for me, long live seven. The eight laptop does not see much use because eight is well, clunky and wants to do its own things.
.
My employer is skipping eight system wide (probably 5000+ PCs) and waiting for a stable ten, while keeping seven as long as possible. That says volumes about what the IT guys think about eight.

On my laptop i am regretting updating to win 10, the one main issue i cant seem to fix is it locking up every time it goes into sleep, i have had to disable the system from going into sleep mode, I laso can't get firefox to work reliably but i blame firefox on that as i can't seem to get it to work with out random script crashes on other systems as well. the locking up on suspend/sleep/when ever i close the lid is getting very frustrating
