Looking for spare/unused projector case for SELEM 9 project
Hi folks!
Many of you know that at SELEM 8 (my first SELEM!!) I bought two of Adam's lasers. One of which was the housed in the green Alphalite box (it seems many of you know this box very well). Anyway, as Adam knows, I've been looking to transplant the guts of the laser into a more, lets say, "professional" looking box. Since the laser sits on a shelf in my girlfriend's living room, she and her kids have also commented on it.
Anyway, Adam has graciously offered to help me transplant it into a good case, but we had trouble finding a suitable case. The ones from China are good, but shipping costs more than the box and takes months to get here! So that wasn't an option. Just today, I was able to pick up a Seahorse SE-630 case which is big enough, and sturdy for the laser (See: http://www.carrycasesplus.com/seahor...es/se-630.html), but it's still a bit "big and industrial" looking.
Sooooo.. my question to all SELEM attendees is this: If by any chance you have any empty or unused projector cases that might work for me, and you are able, can you bring them to SELEM? I've included some photos below and the dimensions. Once at SELEM 9, we can take a look to see which case would do the best job, and then Adam (and whoever else wants) can help me with the surgery. And I'm willing to pay a fair and reasonable price for whatever case we end up using.
The outside dimensions of the AL Box are: 14" wide, 12" deep, 7" high, but the insides (one monolithic light table with everything mounted to it) is slightly smaller (see photos). Let me know if you have any questions!
Thanks!

Check this thread Hank:

One of those Green projectors might be large enough to hold the optical plate from your unit.

If you can make this work with Taylor, I'll make sure there is room. I was the one that suggested this as a solution for you and he REALLY needs cash right now. Do not be alarmed if you don't get a reply right away. His 10 year old son is in having heart surgery today amongst all the other crap he's dealing with right now. The absolute main thing to check is the measurements to make sure the Alphalite will fit in the Goldenstar case. If it does, you're golden and are getting a nice extra 300mW green with flightcase you could always put in the buy/sell room at SELEM and drive me nuts debating about it all weekend.
Edir: As I think about it, there will HAVE be room as I need to leave some space to bring back my Venus projectors from Rick.

As a thought.... Rick Hellman (hitekvoop) I "think" has a empty Pluto housing. I could be totally wrong but, I vaguely remember him saying he had an empty case - or maybe that was a Venus - or maybe I'm just old.

As much as I search around, I can't find the dimensions of the G300A box, but I think I'll take one anyway for a future lumia box.
So I think it's a good deal with Jon to get all the equipment.

The G300 in 2013 was 34cm x 28cm x 15cm. It looks like Taylors case. I can't find anything referencing G-300A but, in 2014, the same G-300 went to a much taller case with a smaller length by width. I'm willing to bet 34 x 28 x 15 is correct.
Edit: Remembering the Alphalight, and digging out a measuring tape, you're probably fine on height and depth. Not sure about width.

Wow, pretty close!
The AL case is: 14w x 12d x 6h
The G300 is: 13.4w x 11d x 6h
So about one inch less depth and slightly less width. These are outside dimensions.. so don't know if it's "fitable". We'll just have to see at SELEM I guess.
