    Default LD2000 Question

I've not had this before but, this is a new install on a new laptop.

When I go to open a show in Showtime (or at least about a half dozen I've tried thus far), it loads the show file, then loads the frame file and then asks about opening the multimedia (song) file. When I click yes, the multimedia player opens and immediately begins playing the song. Normally on all my other installs, the song doesn't start until I actually start the show. I don't see anywhere yet that's blatantly obvious to turn that off.

So, in short... You try to play a laser show in Showtime and the music immediately starts playing even before you press play to start the show. How do I stop that from happening?

    Thanks!

That's not supposed to happen! I think a call to Pangolin is in order here. Either there is some simple "auto-play" feature turned on that we are unaware of, or else you're experiencing a very obscure bug. In both cases, Pangolin can no doubt fix it faster than we can...

Aaron was the last one to work on it at SELEM. I'll touch base with him.

(It doesn't start the laser show - just playing the song. I can quick stop it and then start the full show with lasers and sound as normal but, yeah... it's a strange one.)

Yes that's a strange one alright...

Brad you might also try "Showtime M" (you should find it as c:\LD2000\Showtime_M.exe) This uses Windows Media Player instead of internal MCI calls. Windows Media Player is handy in some ways and not others, which is why we basically give you a choice.

Give that a try, then let Aaron know what you find.

    Bill
