Default Chasing/Offsetting Zones in Real Time With Beyond

Just curious if anyone has figured out a way to offset effects through different zones in beyond. With the APC40, I can only seem to send different cues to different zones, not send the same cue offset through different zones.

Are there any tutorials out there for beyond universe? I haven't played with it much, but don't quite understand its capabilities yet.

There will be a video tutorial eventually but so far as I'm aware there's nothing now.

There is this short demonstration video on Youtube that might help, but its not a tutorial as such.

There is an Effect Properties window that you open from o small Icon with a hand image on it, on the Effects Tab. You can add an offset there over a set of Projection Zones.

Beyond universe is one way... I prefer the strait forward, QS way.

If, for example, you have 4 projectors.
Make 4 projection zones with these projectors assigned to them.
Make 4 separate (identical) cues, assigned to these projection zones.(with cue properties)
Give each cue a color effect, options: By time, Brightness control, Discrete, Speed 25%, Beat control.
Give cue 1, time shift 0%
Give cue 2, time shift 25%
Give cue 3, time shift 50%
Give cue 4, time shift 75%
Select multicue, start all 4 cues.
They probably run out of sync now...
Now make a capture/snapshot by dragging the preview area to an empty cue.
Now if you call the new capture-cue, et voila, a chase over 4 projectors.
(don't move the location of source cues, the links are not dynamic)

This where LivePro wins over BEYOND... We need tracks, presets and all the other good stuff in LP...

You don't need tracks, you need to learn how to do it in Beyond. It took me a long time to start using Beyond, because I was also comparing it with LivePro and looking for the same things. Beyond gives you the possibility to do whatever you were able to do in LivePro, plus much more, just in different ways.

Beyond still needs a lot of refining before I will use it live... Found a few issues with multiple QM2000's, doesn't work with a Pangolin performer, I have LivePro integrated with Chamsys for track chases, so it will be a while. Though Beyond is good for making cues that I then export to LivePro... Each to their own I guess...

Just wondering what the connection issues are.

Beyond supports DMX, Art Net, Midi, and several other protocols, so I'm slightly puzzled as to why the console, Beyond and chamsys can't communicate. It might be worth having a chat with Alexey Marc as he might know a way to get everything talking or if not, he's the person to implement it provided thats in the scheme of things and I can't see why it wouldn't be.
