Default MoboLazer Factory Clean Out Auction - I am posting this for Tim.

I was asked to post this
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hello Producers, Manufacturers and Laser Enthusiasts,

Several of you have mentioned over the years how much you liked the old Mobolazer beam systems and wondered if there were still parts available.
    Here is your chance.

The company which took over the Mobolazer line is cleaning out their warehouse.. if there is enough interest, they'll hold an auction for the whole inventory.

As some of you remember, Mobolazer was the company that brought mainstream lasers under DMX control and changed the industry to begin to treat lasers at lighting instruments.. They certainly changed the world with their low cost, robust beam systems large and small.

Inventory liquidation consists of big load of great treasures such as:

    From the Manufacturing Floor:
    - Partial projector systems.. something like 10 Mobolazer ML-10 systems in partial assembly, and others..
    - PCBs
    - Cables, controls
    - New parts galore
    - Sheet metal
    - mounts
    - optics
    - Injection molded parts,
    - other smaller parts and projectors

    From the service department:
    - abandoned laser less projectors. multiple styles and types.
    - abandoned general purpose lasers

    Other:
    - Full Schematics,
    - documentation..
    - fixturing and more
    - lots of other odds and ends

Beautiful new Mobo products could be built from these new parts and items with an investment in some missing items..
Big quantities of some of the hard to get custom made parts.

Do you want to get into a part of the laser display business which isn't saturated?
Start back up this line of very solid reliable beam projectors.. !
Nobody seems to serve this market today. Compact beam tables serve a role which can't be filled by scanned projectors.

It's a truck full of stuff.. and it's sold on a scrap/OEM basis only.

If you are interested, or would like to be alerted to the auction or see the pictures and bid description please drop a line to Mr. Tim Ziegenbein: tim@lumalaser.com Express your interest today so you don't miss out on a great opportunity to jump strongly into the laser display business.

    Located on the West Coast..

Thanks for your interest.. happy bidding!

ya I remember this, problem is I think they want to sell it as one lot right? will price out 99% of people here, and the remaining 1% probably don't need it... really should be parted out but I don't think they are going to get the kind of money they wanted unless things have changed in the past couple years...

I love my mobolasers, and would love to pick up spare parts but I don't have the resources to buy the lot

    Thumbs down

For what it's worth, I have tried 3 separate times to bid on this lot of equipment. And all 3 times I've been blown off.

Casey first contacted me about it way back in 2011. At that time, Tim was very interested in getting rid of it all. (Casey was merely acting as the middle-man.) But after we expressed interest, suddenly Tim didn't have time to get in touch with us to view the stuff. We even had a guy (Platinum) who was local to the storage unit where it was being kept, but no one could manage to take 30 minutes out of their day to meet with Platinum so he could take pictures and make a basic list of what was available. This went on for a couple months, after which we simply stopped getting replies to our e-mails.

Then we tried again in 2012. RGB-Gas and a few others were in on it then. But we had the same problem as before. Lots of talk about "let's sell this stuff", but when it came time to actually look at it, suddenly there was no interest. And yes, we were planning to bid on the entire lot, not trying to piecemeal things.

The last time I gave this a shot was about 2 years ago. Supposedly there are several reliant gas tubes in the shed along with all the mobo gear. There were a few people here who expressed interest in those reliants, so I tried one last time. But once again, it never came to anything.

I've washed my hands of the entire mess. Twice I had money collected from 3 different people and was ready to pull the trigger on this, only to be blown off. (And we were talking serious 4 figures here.) The third time I wisely decided not to gather any funds until after the inspection, even though that time Tim actually said he would make a list of parts himself and send us some pictures. After 6 weeks of waiting with no further contact, I wrote the entire thing off.

Sorry to come off as sour grapes, but this is a bit of a sore spot for me. I've spent a lot of time on this, only to be disappointed again and again. I ended up moving in a different direction after being ignored 3 times in a row. I just don't like being "fished" I guess.

If someone does pick all this up, that's great. I'm sure there are lots of little useful items in the lot, including turret parts, mirrors, beam splitters, actuators, and so on. And if there are working (or near working) tables in the shed, or some reliant heads that are still good, I'm sure someone will be very pleased. But I'm done with the whole thing. I'd rather take my chances with E-bay.

that mirrors my experience 100%, was unaware you were working it too but I also spoke to Casey about it back in 2011 and it was touch and go for a while, then nothing

Issue #1, You're posting for someone else... why?

I'm thinking heavily about retiring my beam tables from road use, set up/maintenance time suck.

I was not aware of the history. I was asked if I could post it. That is sad it was unsuccessful before.

    Rick;

Casey asked Johnathan to post it, that's all. But I agree - if Tim were serious about this, then why not take 30 seconds to post it himself?

Any further developments with this sale? I had gotten a response to my pm/email but nothing further. Just wondering.
