This will be my 3rd tesla coil, hopeful that I'll see 4' + arcs from it in a real compact form.
Figured I'd make this post before testing the voltage double, as well might not be able too afterward.

I would love to see more pictures of this, please keep posting as you progress. I've quite fancied the idea of making a TC at some point, but I do confess to being just a little bit scared

This is the primary, I took and cut up and drilled a cutting board to make the forms to run the 1/4" copper through.
This one is being built from by the book from eastern voltage research. http://www.easternvoltageresearch.co...minibrute.html

I have finished most of the wiring, added copper shielding for resonant board, set current limit, tested display board and gate drives, power supply as well as bleeders and relays. Just have to test the gate phasing and it will be ready to test. I am building a modulator right now that is needed for phasing, I could trick the resonant board with a 555 timer circuit and +5 on modulation to test, but not using pwm to test the phasing and IGBT would be a disaster.
All the little drill holes are for power status, temp, over current, HV charge and then power meter up to 1000A.
Hoping to have all set for Halloween. Laser show and three tesla coils for a total of 10' of arching electricity.

Eagerly looking forward to seeing this in action! I have yet to break into the SSTC builds. All of mine have been SGTCs.
Looks super clean! Awesome work!

Thanks it is crazy how fast you run out of room. I thought i was doing better making this base wider, forgetting I bought larger caps for smoother music playback.
The little drsstc i have that only does 12" arcs is fun for indoor use.
You running a rotary gap? on your SG? I took apart and sold re-purposed mine awhile back.
