Galvo and laser questions

Hi, I'm new to lasers. I'm working on a project where I want to project a simple animated image.

Pangolin software is too expensive.

I'm looking at Openlase software, I'm assuming that it is compatible with Etherdream or Lasershark controller? Any other suggestions?

On Ebay I'm seeing various Chinese galvos and amplifiers and I'm assuming they are compatible with the Lasershark or Etherdream?

i don't know what sort of laser shows you want to make, but check out LSX. it's compatible with etherdream and a host of other controllers (dacs).
