First of all, sorry for posting a spoiler....
If anyone doesn't know the plot by now....nice spoiler dude!

I saw it saturday... was pretty good movie, but a terrible star wars movie
My son saw it and agrees with you. I've read some reviews and the consensus is 50/50. The CGs are great (these will always improve with time). The plot is weak with a lot of "where did that come from"? There is a little too much of what caused the demise of the Mary Tyler Moore show (if you get my drift). It might be a really good movie for a few friends and some brownies.

it felt like a transformers movie, you enjoyed going to go watch it, but you can't remember anything that happened... it was just a rip off of IV-VI and felt "cheap"... and the new villain which we shall call "darth millenial" was so weak and poorly cast... the writing was weak, the directing was weak as should be expected from J.J. "I ruin everything you love" Abrams

but it was kind of what I expected really... a "disneyfication" of the star wars universe, with JJ making a "safe" movie that I am sure went through tons of committees and focus groups...

the writing was especially atrocious, super predictable, you could see everything coming literally miles away... and things that seemed like they might be important got a one line mention and that was the end of that...

I just got to see it my self but i am up north on a small vacation and the theaters up here suck, my home theater literally sounds better and they don't have anything 3D,

Now i did like the move but i did feel a little let down but not by much, i wish i know some of the history's of the people but i had the same complaint for I II III, and i hope jar jar did not survive one of the attacks , if he did die a flaming death will feel much better. when i am back down state i will watch it a second time, this time in a theater with decent audio and in 3D.

I honestly in my hobby with audio thought that i would never have a set up that rivals and beats a lot of the theaters in "my" area, some of the theaters near Detroit would blow mine out of the water so to speak, i guess living in a mobile tornado trap has one advantage, the smaller square footage and shape of my living room makes it easier to achieve reference levels.

I guess i will get into the plot and the actors roles after i have seen the movies a few more times but in the end i did like it even though it was a bit fast paced, and still wondering how the one droid keeps it's head from falling off, lol

There were a lot of one liners. Hopefully this isn't a spoiler for anyone. I loved the storm troopers reaction when the bad guy lost his temper.

I went to see this on the weekend. The first time I have been to the cinema in 20 years!

I liked it, it was ok. Funny at times.

Looking at the age of the audience, I did wonder how many people understood the history and in jokes. Not many I suspect, as I humoured myself thinking I was one of the few that did.

Thinking more on this, I cant help but feel it was a bit naff and an inhouse wank. Apparently Lucas doesnt like it.
