I suppose George will just have to console himself with his US$4.06B.

I haven't seen it yet, (I haven't been to a theater in 12+ years), but I can't imagine that Abrams made any mistakes worse than the introduction of JarJar.

Within 24hrs of the premier there was a cam version posted on the internet. It wasn't great quality. In a few more days there was a much better one. I have tried to watch it several times but fell asleep or lost interest. They are using a lot more miniatures (like in the original) and less CG. I took my dad to see the 1977 original when it first came out in 70mm with "Senseround" sound - it was amazing! I must be getting old and a little jaded. I'm sure it's better in a 3D Imax theater.

I'll prefer the use of miniatures over CG as well. Have we ever had a film that was at the top of its game with CG technology not look like relative cr@p 10 years later? (Titanic and Avatar come to mind as aging poorly due to the use of CG.) Films with heavy investments in miniatures and real sets (like The Fifth Element and even the 1927 film Metropolis) still look great 19 and 89 years later.

Dnar: +1 on a sequel to Spaceballs. If only John Candy was still with us.

Well....I was completely and utterly disgusted with the predictability of the plot ZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzz !!!!!

Yes "Disneification" is the best way to describe it !! The " SAFE ROAD " was surly taken....and it paid off !!! I do not think it would be possible to rehash the original story more than was done in this render.

To those of us....luck enough to have seen the first Star Wars.....SIGH !!! Nothing new under two suns with this !!!

I guess....I am just a real Crusty Old F@rt !!! !! Impossible to please !!....The effects are beautiful....but....as a story....the target is missed....that being the ability to suspend disbelief !!! Sorry....The last movie that really blew me away was Avatar....in Imax !!!

Now...that was a wonderful experience !!! Hope they do not bugger up the sequel !!!!

I saw it with family that came out to visit the day of Christmas. It reminded me of one of the other SW movies... We saw it in 2d. I have no desire to watch 3d movies and refuse to pay the extra cost for them.
