ALC 60X assembly

I have a question about ALC 60X assembly. I think it was a part of printing machine. 60X head sits on a massive aluminum baseplate near some device looks like modulator and few mirrors. Beam aperture seems to be in the bottom of the baseplate. Am I right? Maybe someone knows the specs of this device, to make something useful with it?

Yes, the attached unit contains an acousto optical modulator (AOM). The problem with ALC60s is that you never know what tube they have fitted until you open them up; even then you may not be able to tell. You can get some very powerful multi-mode multi-line outputs with the right optics, but the chances are if it's still in the original Xerox sled, it will be single line 488nm and fairly low power. Do you also have the power supply? They're probably more difficult to locate than the laser heads.

No, I got it without power supply. There are some cheap SP 263 power supplies on ebay, can I use it with 60X? At first I think I need to test it in pulsed mode to be sure that it's gas intact and I have a reasons to work on it. If it's ok I will look for power supply. After all, is it possible to change the mirrors of multiline operation?

Sp263 power supplies won't work with an ALC60, at least not without considerable modification, you need an Ominchrome 150 PSU or the equivalent Melles Griot unit; failing that, the original Xerox 'Gold Box' PSU, but they're not as robust as the Omni 150.
If the tube is an original ALC, you could swap the mirrors, if you can locate a set; many of these are now fitted with National Laser tubes which are internal mirror tubes, so you're stuck with whatever lines they are setup for, usually 488nm.

That is a Xerox printer sled. The tube will have multi-line optics designed to enhance violet and blue, but will lase green.
The laser is set up to run at ~27 mW in the sled.

An Omni 150 or ALC Gold Box power supply will run the head.

SP heads have a self contained igniter and a lower cathode voltage, ALC heads need some additional PSU voltages for the igniter. Its not an easy conversion.

Xerox's photoreceptor liked violet and blue content both.

An Omni 150 or ALC Gold Box power supply will run the head.
