Thanks Daniel, I shall check this out.

If for example I had a crappy Laserworld CS2000 RGB - Can I use this casing and certain components to strip and start a new projector project?

I'm currently studying the safety guidelines of lasers and know my interests are purely for hobby purposes as opposed to commercial and profit purposes. I tend to learn best watching video's. Are there any youtube channels with videos for startup learner guides to building a projector?

    Thanks for your time folks

In the past I would have said yes; but the level of entry to making everything to a reasonable standard is now so low, it's probably worth you doing it all again.
(At least you'll still have a fully functional CS2000 rather than cannibalise it)

Check out Planters' "TechIngredients" videos; however they usually cover fairly advanced topics, but significantly interesting and worth a watch nonetheless.

I think the next UKLEM is April time in Lincolnshire, UK. You'll learn more there in a weekend that 1 month watching videos + it's attended by a large group of numpty idiots; myself included.

Thanks Daniel, yes they are pretty awesome but way to advanced at this stage for me. I'll look forward to the event also.
