I have something like that my self, i need to repaint it and hope the tank is not rusted out but it's biased off of refrigeration compressor that has a it's own oil loop so you dont get oil in the output air, low cfm but very quiet. the compressor is a semi-hermetically sealed type that i believe was made for a dentists office, if there is interest i will take pictures of it, it's heavy as hell though lol

the compressor is similar to this https://www.johnstonesupply.com/stor...ep?pID=B81-365

Ha! My compressor is quite noisy. It currently sits outside my office, in the garage with an air hose feeding thru the wall so I don't have to hear it. This is a very interesting idea, I might have to see if I can come up with an old refrigerator compressor and see if I can make it work.

    Thanks for the idea, Gary!

for any one interested refrigeration compressors work well as a poor man's vacuum pump, they can draw a deep enough vacuum for plasma to form when high voltage is present.
