I'm using 3 layers for SM 638 nm and going to use for P73 from Jordan. What are the advantages of the 2mm FL lens over 3 layers?

The main advantage is the possibility of combining 4 diodes by stacking them 2 high. Then combining 2 x 2 with a pBS cube.

Only 11 more to go for the GB. Having the lens mounted and glued in the barrels saves the hassle of doing it yourself and they are mounted in the correct orientation. They do make a big difference in the near field.
