Fair enough, Eric. I deserved that. But after multiple disrespectful posts from Nii (accusing me of committing the logical fallacy that he's been using the entire time was the last straw), I'll admit that I snapped. As I said, everyone has their limit.

Telling the person you debate with that he has made a logical fallacy is not being disrespectful to them.
    So how was I disrespectful?

Thanks. Maybe some others want to participate and declare their choices for president and why and the issues we have been discussing can decompress without any declared resolution (or further hard feelings).

I know political discussion is not what we necessarily want on the forum but, personally I have found this thread to be very interesting and educational to follow and read from time to time. I was never on a debate team or anything but, I know it's a forte of Adams in particular so, it's been a good learning experience.

This one is going to be hard and, like others, I haven't made a decision yet although, I have been leaning towards Trump through the entire process. As it whittled away from the original 17, there were others I would have preferred (although Cruz was not one of them!) I also do not subscribe to one particular party or the other and am registered as independent. Since I'll be at the ILDA conference, this will be the first time I've had to arrange to vote ahead of time and I don't even know yet how to go about that.
    .
The one thing I do think however, is whoever wins this thing is nowhere near as important as what happens with all of the other elected officials and it's probably more important to have a major turnover in the house and senate versus whoever ends up being the figurehead. There are plenty of checks and balances to help at least curtail them from doing *too* much damage.

    Thanks Brad.

Now lets here from some others. I am honestly curious as to what justifications people will present. It's either Trump or Hillary. Any other choice is a statement, but also an abdication from the
actual choice and others will then decide.

Please, lets not persist with this.

    It's either Trump or Hillary.
Would you like slugs or maggots?

Would you like to be shot or poisoned?

    Some choice...

I'm not a Cruz fan, but I got a deep belly laugh over his antics at the convention as it speaks volumes.

I could only hope that the Electoral College will do what the founders intended and short circuit this mob mentality nonsense by eliminating the election of Daffy Duck or Porky Pig and appointing someone else...

    Maybe Robert Gates or something...

    I didn't ask those questions.

The reason I asked who you will vote for is because a significant number of participants that have posted on this thread have avoided answering this question. They will deflect. They will answer this question with a question. They will wish for a candidate that isn't running or doesn't exist. Some will even attack those that reveal their choice while side stepping their own selection. Close to half the electorate will vote for either candidate, so whatever choice you make it isn't like admitting you are from Mars. It might be that you will be admitting that you disagree with me which might (or might not) be worse.

You actually hope that? Have you thought through what the ramifications of this voter nullification might be? With the existing political parties opposed to the will of many and maybe a majority of the voters and the electoral college heavily controlled by the political parties, the results can be very undemocratic. The existing political parties did not exist at the time of the Founding Fathers and there is no Constitutional role for them. They are more like corporations that evolved to monopolize political access at this time. They support Hillary and they wanted Jeb Bush!

OK, fine... I can't stand Hillary, but I cannot vote for Trump anymore than I could vote for Creflo Dollar or Jim Bakker of any other Godforsaken opportunist phony out there.

OK, so the short answer is Hillary.

I agree that we can all go on (and have) about the failings of each candidate, but putting that aside what will she likely do that you support? Or, what will Trump do that you do not support? Conversely, what will Trump do (and Hillary won't) that you oppose?
