Your points are good, but I see you as constructing an argument for a society or at least a group of individuals. Laserman is describing an approach that works for him and may work for others, but gets problematic as the group grows. He would do well as a grizzly bear. You would do well in a wolf pack. Both animals have a successful survival strategy, however while a lone human would be killed by both, we all know how well they will fare against a city state.

The problem with attempting to convince society to follow these philosophies is that the average citizen is exactly that...average and 1/2 the country is below average. Furthermore, we are becoming less intelligent. The welfare state is promoting the reproduction of the least intelligent and capable and discouraging the reproduction of professionals and the highly productive. No wonder the government is corrupt and permitted to continue by spreading trinkets. No wonder anarcho-capitalists are rare.

Although the opposite sides of the spectrum the issue with both communists and anarchists to me is they think people are inherently good and will follow rules or some morals and not corrupt a system in one case and abuse the lack of a system in the latter.

This seems very simple to me but what do I know.
1) Government is a group of people.
2) Society is a group of people.
3) People suck.

Government and society are just concepts, get rid of one or both, or give powers from one to the other, you still end up with power given to people. People almost always abuse power.
