As if Laserman has not been doing everything but answering questions. Spamming photos and chanting statements, how do you expect us to communicate with such a person? It's like trying to negotiate with a little kid.
So, you need to stop encouraging him. I know its tempting, but you will never reach an understanding, so move on.

Any of Trumps positive attributes are, in my opinion, negated by the fact he aligned himself with the republicans
I know what you mean, but to make this a blanket statement is going too far. You may have preferred that he run as an independent, but give a short list of his most positive attributes (limit it to say 4 items) and then say why they specifically fail if he runs as a republican.

I used the word "attributes" instead of "positions" because I meant to differentiate personality from policy . And what I view as "positive" may mean something different to another.

Positive attribute as i see it: goes against the grain, stirs the pot, anti-establishment (don't take this to mean I believe all ridiculous stuff that comes out of his mouth). He is kind of Punk Rock in a way. This fails as a republican(establishment). Think of it as a physics example... you can't be antimatter and matter at the same time.... they annihilate each other. Which is kind of whats happening, no?

Fearing the unknown is not very wise. Nor does it make sense how you apply that decision making style only for this guy, as if you know others better.

I think you underestimate the popular vote Trump would have got as an independent. Yes, there is the problem of the electoral college. However, to my knowledge, it has never been really challenged.
Could it be because it's very hard to challenge?
And I could say the opposite, maybe you're overestimating the percentage of votes independent Trump would get? Is there any example you can use from the past of independents getting anywhere? I don't recall any.

In any case, the point is, whether he says he is "independent" or he says he is "republican", he has his unique set of views. So how about looking into them instead of looking at what he labels himself since he doesn't care about the label anyway and not blame him for "playing the game" because of that pointless label?

Fearing of the unknown is not very wise.
I agree. That is way I said I have to go with my *feelings* on this one. Sorry, gohsttrain, you can't argue that point. I understand your feelings are different.

Please look at this example: If you were the manager at a company that had to hire for a position, would you go by the resume/ job application alone? Hell no! That is why you would do an interview. This is where you have to use your *feelings*. This is after all what make us human.

Nor does it make sense how you only say that about this guy, as if you know others better.
I never said the others are better in these regards. I was specifically talking about Trump. As I said I could go on for days about the Dems(others). You are trying to argue things I have not said or implied.

I'm not talking about different feelings. I'm saying letting a feeling (such as fear) guide you here is not wise.

Well two things here. First you say you have to go by feelings because there isn't much data, I disagree here, we could discuss that if you wish. And secondly, intuition is fine when there is nothing else you can use, but it shouldn't be fueled by baseless fear, in my opinion. Because it's hard to tell if your intuition is the decision maker then or fear.

Am I, now? Correct me if I'm wrong, you say Trump terrifies you because for you he's unknown, right? Why do you say that about Trump, not that "every candidate" terrifies you? Does every candidate terrify you, equally?

According to physics, if you jump off a bridge the ground below has a certain percent probability of becoming a giant marshmallow and absorbing your impact. Am I fearful if I decide to not jump off a bridge?

First you say you have to go by feelings because there isn't much data, I disagree here, we could discuss that if you wish.
No point really. I was just trying to point out what I felt was a failing on Trumps part. A failing that some might not have looked at. Personally, not that it maters, the parts of Trumps policy I do like are overshadowed by the ones I dislike.

Its simple. I would say the whole system terrifies me. "Terrifies" maybe not the exact word I would use. I don't like any of them. I just happen to not like Trump more. The saying "the lesser of two evils is still evil" doesn't really mean much to me. As I said earlier I am using fuzzy logic on this one.

Well first of all you're a rational logical person.
On the other hand I don't see logic here, and I believe there can be.

    Which ones overshadow?

I just happen to not like Trump more.
I see. But that's my point, why more when it comes to Trump?

BTW, the saying "the lesser of two evils is still evil" is just a saying to me as well.

Look up philosophical interpretations of Heisenberg's uncertainty principle. Interesting stuff.

I see. But that's my point, why more when it comes to Trump?
Its not *that* much more. As I said in an earlier post I give the Dems 5% credit. I just pulled that % out of my ass. It maybe more like .05%. I don't know, its hard to quantify. But I feel the Dems are more "stable" on the social justice side at this time. Trump has put himself on the Rep team. Therefore, I can't support him.
