At the beginning of the year, I remember Trump boasting that he could shoot somebody and still maintain support from his minions.

Little or nothing truer has been spoken, so it seems. The dumber the stuff Trump blurts out, the more endearing he is to his followers- he can do no wrong... WTF!

I guess the angst and acrimony over the present Republican and Democrat establishment has created an opportunity for Trump to serve up his own brand of Flavor-Aid
    to cure the problem.

    Slurp it up, people!

Personally, from across the pond, what worries me is the thought of Trump on one side and Putin on the other.

    planters,

you're not interested in a discussion. you're interested only in being "right". that makes all of this pointless and uninteresting.

Hillary is as foul mouthed and much more unlikable than Nixon. But, it was Nixon's transgression of the law that was the basis of his undoing. Hillary has a great deal more experience with flouting the law.

This is a vacuous statement. I give it a -1, so you're at zero. How many realities do you think there are? Three? Forty four, or one for each human being? If you said in your reality then that's OK, but a much less grandiose claim.

    Again.
suppose you're thinkin' about a plate o' shrimp. Suddenly someone'll say, like, plate, or shrimp, or plate o' shrimp out of the blue, no explanation. No point in lookin' for one, either. It's all part of a cosmic unconciousness.

your opinion that trump has the experience, talent, knowledge, and temperament necessary for the job while HRC doesn't is hard to reconcile with any known reality.

Your second statement is hard to reconcile with your previous statement. Throwing out jabs and being offended when you get something in return doesn't work. This election is a close thing. Either candidate might win, with the polls favoring either candidate by a few points, depending on the poll. That means that nearly half the country favors each candidate. My position, as well as your position, are main stream. Neither is fringe and to suggest that either candidate's qualification being superior to the other, "is hard to reconcile with any known reality", is silly.

Did you watch the video? Have you no sense of humor? It was meant to be a joke and it was funny. The same kind of joke has been made about HRC. With all the scandals plaguing her, people joke that you could have live video of her strangling kittens and her support wouldn't waver.

    Minions?

No, its not. If we had someone rational running for office on the Republican ticket (e.g. Jeb Bush, John Kasich) then we could have a rational debate over policies and which policies would serve the country at large best. The Trump train consist of erratic, emotional, divisive statements without policies other than saying he'll do it so much better than it has been done (despite having publicly supported most of the foreign policy decisions that have got us to this point.) You can't argue with crazy. This ceased to be a rational discussion the day he got the nomination. Now its just a tragic reality show and something I hope we Americans will be ashamed of much like the Germans were of Hitler post WWII.

I get that the current political situation is infuriating, but throwing our country into an anger-filled armed chaos is not the answer. Not to mention, if you really believed anything you've been saying (for years now), you'd have been pushing the Libertarian ticket instead of furthering the emotional rhetoric coming from this fringe Right turned main-right. That would be a debate worth having, IMHO.

You miss the point- it doesn't matter whether he was serious or not, it has proven to be nearly believable at this point. And yes, a live video of Clinton strangling kittens probably wouldn't have much effect on her support simply because the only alternative is even worse- I suppose that same argument could be used by either side...

If only BOTH candidates could be disqualified- Trump could share the same fate as Al Capone and be indicted for income tax evasion (there's bound to be something in that 10,000 page return that he won't release), and Hillary could be nailed for lying to Congress, the FBI, CIA, SPCA, et al. Let's make it Kaine vs Pence.

    Jim Bakker for President!!!

Yes, it was. But, when you don't agree with the opposition that doesn't justify your claim that the opposition is irrational.

You miss the point- it doesn't matter whether he was serious or not
That's a foolish statement. Of course it matters and he was not serious.

it has proven to be nearly believable at this point
No, it hasn't. Maybe to you it has, I'll grant you that. But, you make the assumption that your view applies to the analysis, but the contrary position does not.

    You can't argue with crazy.
    No, I can't. And I won't.

It looks like the Trump campaign has crossed over into the World of Wonka- I love the new hairdo!
I said earlier that the goofy videos and tangential posts are not worth much and they are not. They don't substitute for a good argument.

I agree with Swamidog on this one point. I do not see any point in engaging in this conversation. I am responded to with pompous statements and accusations of lying and the only significant content added is a cartoon.

I suppose I must have hit a nerve.

    Good day.
