I was wondering because if a big multimode emitter, then the worse the divergence.

It's got a fac lens on it so the divergence is good from what I remember reading about. I have to find where I read that. I'll get back to you on that.

Although a FAC lens reduces the divergence of the slow axis, it doesn't help all that much other than making the output more rounded. I think I have that correct.

It corrects the fast axis hence the name FAC (fast axis correction). Yes it's not a round beam but rather a square but honestly that's fine with me. You don't need a round beam to have good divergence.

Ha, I said it wrong. Of course F means Fast I knew that, not that stupid, but I did mix two concepts, beam correction cylinder lenses and FAC lenses which are two different things. Thank you for quoting me, but I wouldn't go back and edit the post anyway. I wasn't saying you were stupid. Quoting is a preference thing. It doesn't mean anything if someone does it. Personally for me it ensures that the person I'm talking to knows it I guess. It's not intended as an insult.

What is the emitter size, anyone know? 400x100um?

Honestly I have no clue. There was no datasheet for these diodes when they hit the hobby market, so I know little about the diode other than they are 5W rated and red.

To those who may be interested, I'd go $400 on this.

I don't think people realize what you're selling here. That driver alone is worth hundreds.
