Lasers in India

Greetings, all;

We have been invited to do a show India next year. Financial details are still being worked out, but I'm wondering if any PLers have experience/advice on traveling to the other side of the planet to do a show. (We are based out of Michigan USA).

Specifically:
Does the Indian government regulate lasers?
Are there any Indian laser companies from whom we could rent projectors?
(Shipping all our gear will be cost prohibitive, I'm thinking)

Any other thoughts?
