    Default Laptop recommendations

    Greetings, all;

    On my current 5 year old laptop (Asus) running Win 7, the audio detection in Beyond 2.1 Advanced can only see the input from the mic. So I have to do a work-around with a loopback from the audio out - very clumsy.

    I have read that some combos of laptop/Win do allow Beyond FFT to be controlled by the audio in a Beyond media track.

    Is anyone doing this, and if so, what laptop/Win versions are you using?

    I'm thinking it's time to upgrade to a better laptop, which will come with Win 10, alas.

    Thoughts?

    Thanks...Mike

    I have been using a Surface 3 i7 for a couple years and love it. Rugged as all hell. Keyboard takes a bit to get used to.

    But does Beyond Advanced 2.1 recognize the internal media track audio?
    That's the point.

    Thanks...Mike

    I hadn't gotten around to installing 2.1 but will try it.

    I expect you've already tried this, but just in case...

    Right-click speaker icon in tray bar, click audio input devices (or similar, my Windows is not in English), right-click in the list that shows up and select show disabled devices and show unconnected devices. Then an additional device might show up called Stereo Mix or something (depending on your laptop) which you can enable and put as default.
