    Default metalwork

    Hello guys

I know some people arround here do their own metal fabrication and own a mill. I,m looking for someone who is willing to do some metalwork in small quantities for a trade. The metalwork is basic stuff like milling some diode backplates , and a m9x0.5 lens plate holder. I have several things to trade.

If you have the time, skills and own a milling machine and want to help us its best to contact us by PM.

    Thanks!!

    Johan

I have a Tormach PCNC1100 Mill, but no time at the moment as it is flat out making parts for another project.

That's the same as me saying to Johan: "I have a CNC machine, but's in pieces in my workshop, but one day it will be running..."

Sorry for my bad British English, I must have written it much clearer like, I can do it for you Johan but you must wait a bit, just like you must at any busy metal shop.

All metalshops have usualy a delivery time 3-4 weeks. Hobbyists usualy have a delivery time of 3 months because of birthdays, need to go shopping with the wife, the shed has to be painted next weekend etc. I kind of hoped that someone who owned a mill wanted to earn a module for doing some metalwork for a weekend of work. But its all sorted now.

    Johan,

Why you do not buy your own mill instead to imply that all hobbyists are not helping you because of birthdays, need to go shopping with the wife, the shed has to be painted next weekend etc.. Maybe our mills are busy already making parts.

    All the best

    Andy

I just display the facts. If you pay a metalshop it has a delivery time but you are 100% sure you get things after 3-4 weeks. If you go to someone that does things for a hobby there is always something in between. I restored an old car in the past. The guy that need to prep the paint and sprayment promised a month but even after a year it wasnn,t finished. Took it to a car spray company and payed a shitload of money on top of what i already payed to the "hobbyist". Bottomline is that people are friendly and want to help you but they are just to busy with the normal things in life. You also have a mill and when ever i ask i get the same answer, i can do things yes but now i,m kind of busy and that is totally fine.
