Default DMX driver module for Poly-20 grating wheel?

I know at one time at least a couple of different PL members were working on developing DMX-controlled driver modules & mounts for the Poly-20 grating wheel.
Did that particular project ever reach fruition?

Still interested if they're available ...

    Thanks!

Ed Keefe designed one that John Murphy was supposed to be obtaining for me a few years back, in exchange for a poly wheel I sent him, plus some cash. Ed even demonstrated it to me working down at FLEM a couple years ago. (Long story.) But, John appears more interested in jewelry making these days so, I suspect it's fallen by the wayside.

However... the original one designed by Spectrabeam is actually now available for purchase. I got an e-mail earlier this week as a matter of fact from Spectrabeam even promoting it and it's in stock.

    Hello,

A while back, I designed a DMX controlled stepper motor driver for Poly wheels. Here is a picture of the original rotator:

As Brad said, I demonstrated it at FLEM a couple years ago.

And here is a video of it running:

The first version of the rotator in the picture and video above would lose accuracy after a while and would drift off axis.

I have since built up a second version of the rotator and it is dead on. It can be configured for a Poly-20, Poly-10, Poly-4 or a user selected number of effects from 2 to 16. After an initial calibration to compensate for the mounting of a hub to the glass, it calibrates itself when power is applied or when a command is sent by DMX. It has some other capabilities too.

I had the second version at SELEM in 2015. John Murphy installed it on his beam table and ran it for a couple days.

Since then I got busy with the Advanced Laser Router and other projects. Here are some pictures of the motor section and the control section:

All that needs to be done, is to attach a Poly wheel to the outer hub. The little black rectangle is the optical 'Home' calibration sensor.

Ed, How much are you asking for these?

My last contact with ED was it was on his bench for final design tweeks, but he was deeply involved with developing a product he couldn't discuss. I was hoping a laser driver of some sort. Unfortunately I missed SELEM this year as the cottage was booked the week for family vacation.

Also though I have been faceting some optical clear quartz, and been able to bend some beams really interesting. Hope to post some videos in the next couple weeks.

Hey Ed! If I haven't said so earlier, I'm in for three sets of these. Reliable DMX control with the ability to realign-at-will via DMX (in addition to at power-up) is a great feature.

I should know this, but can it rotate smoothly continuously in a circle or back-and-forth through a limited selection of gratings? I would like the ability to have at least one of them set up as effects using polysector wheels like this: http://www.spectrabeam.de/product_in...mission-D100mm. I'm also thinking that for non-lumia effects it would be nice to create one of these wheels that combines the concentric circle effect approach with an open spot where you could just project un-obscured graphics.

IIRC yes it does have a realign "home" command already. The design of V2 and operation was amazing I couldn't come up with a thing to improve. It was just a matter of timing, life, work, projects etc for this to be completed.
