Does anyone need an intern

Hello world of photonlexicon,

My name is Carlyle Styer. I am a third year at the New College of Florida and I am studying 3D laser projection. We have a senior thesis required for graduation and I am looking to integrate full freestanding 3D projection into the work of William Shakespeare. I've been working with lights for 6 years now, however, although my ideas work in my head I need a space to practically learn the art of laser projection and my college does not have these resources.

This is where the people of this land and I may be able to work together. I have much experience in most any role in theatre. I've worked as everything from A technical director, to working front of house, to being a stage sweeper. My school has a program every December into February where students spend their times taking internships and or devoting themselves to one specific field of study. If anyone is working on any laser projection projects and finds it in their heart to take on someone who needs a little training I would be forever in your debt. If not if anyone has the ability to give me a space to experiment and some guidance in lasers their programming and their practical use I'm yours. I can work for absolutely free as my school can provide funding for me to live on. I am willing to do basically any job that you need done in exchange.

Please help a newcomer who with the right help might be able to pull off something really cool.

Hi Carlyle welcome to the forums.

One good idea I think that would be fascinating to do with 3D projections would be to have multiple laser projectors pointed from different areas, and depending on the screen medium i.e. (water, fog, fabric, etc) you could simulate a 3D projection as you mentioned.

Gasoline and a car cost money. Food costs money, Healthcare and Shelter costs money. Doing anything in Florida, including breathing or driving on expressways, costs money. Girlfriends are, pound for pound, the most expensive thing on the planet, long term. Especially when running the "Wife 2.0" software, which kicks in after a year or so. Even worse so when Wife 2.0 spawns child processes. Beware of the dreaded daughter viral programs. Theatrical and Concert work is somewhat hazardous. Therefore, Unless your internship is short, GET PAID!

This is absolutely screaming out 3d projection mapping with integrated lasers. No reason why you couldn't do a peppers ghost effect as well. At least one Shakespeare play has ghosts in it so the ability to materialise a realistic person from thin air would be awesome. It's just a matter of finding someone with the resources and knowledge. As Steve said probably no demand for Shakespeare shows. But no reason why you couldn't learn on more commercial stuff and do the other stuff in your down / own time.
