Absolutely. Mathematically, one of us has to win. Be great if it's both but, I'm content either way.

But I remember reading it previously, and I'm pretty sure it said that in order to vote, you needed to be an ILDA member in 2015 and 2016.

Does anyone know if that's still the case?
Hank, I believe that was to be nominated. As long as you are a member, I believe you may vote.
    .
If you are NOT going to the Business Meeting in Baltimore on November 7, you can vote by email up until 9:30 AM EST (New York time) on Sunday, Nov. 6.
    .
Voting is open to all ILDA Corporate, Nonprofit and Individual Members. Student Members do NOT have a vote.
    .
To vote, send an email to vote@laserist.org with the following information:
    .
    1) Your name
    .
    2) Your ILDA Member (company) name, for Corporate and Nonprofit Members. For Individual Members, your name (above) will suffice. Note that Student Members do not have voting privileges.
    .
    3) Board of Directors choices: Type the names of up to three candidates who you want on the Board of Directors. You can name one, two or three people. There are no write-in votes allowed; they must be from this list:
    .
    Brad Billet
    Olga Eser
    Christine Jenkin
    Christopher Short
    .
    4) President choices: Since we do not yet know who will be elected to the Board, you need to list your preferences for President. To do this, cut-and-paste this list of candidates plus current Board members:
    .
    Abdulwahab Baghdadi
    Brad Billet
    Olga Eser
    Brian Gonzalez
    Christine Jenkin
    Christopher Short
    .
Then, put a ranking number next to each one, showing your favorites. Put a “1” next to your favorite person for President, a “2” next to your second-favorite, and so on until you have put a “6” next to your least-favorite person.
    .
Send this information — your name, ILDA Member name, up to 3 Board of Directors choices, and ranking of all President choices — to vote@laserist.org by the deadline listed above.

suppose you're thinkin' about a plate o' shrimp. Suddenly someone'll say, like, plate, or shrimp, or plate o' shrimp out of the blue, no explanation. No point in lookin' for one, either. It's all part of a cosmic unconciousness.

Slightly off-topic, but not worthy of a new thread.

Is this allowed within ILDA? I just joined yesterday, and today I'm getting laser SPAM. I don't think members should be allowed to do this kind of spam marketing to other members just because they're now on the list. Or at least support a double opt-in to allow it.

Maybe our newly minted board members (pending) can do something about this?

(by they way, this is exactly how this email arrived...)

I got the same e-mail. (Although without reference to finding me on the ILDA list) I'm guessing it was somewhat random and a bit of a fluke that you got it shortly after joining. That's not been my typical experience in the years that I have been a member but, I will look into it for you.

I don't think Able is an ILDA corporate member, but if they are this should definitely go to the ethics team.
