Default Someone needs to buy this before the seller realizes what he is giving away so cheap

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lightwave-Re...gAAOSwmLlX-ARh

I don't know if the seller thinks that this is really worth this much , or if he is just trying to see if someone is dumb enough to actually spend $5K for two 5mw HeNe lasers and a controller that are worth at most $250-$350 total.

The seller has relisted this several times without any bids. I hope he does get his $5K because if so, I have 24 of the vipers in red, green, orange and yellow plus 5 controllers. I will sell 2 heads and a controller for ONLY $2500 - half off of the ebay auction!

I looked at his other items for auction and most are lighting related and seem to have reasonable starting bids. I laugh when I see people list items for waaaaaaay unrealistic prices. Do they not research current selling prices? Do they hope to take advantage of someone who is unaware? Maybe he thinks that because it is a "lazer" it is magic and must be worth crazy money. LASER = MAGIC = $$$$$$$

I am watching the auction to see if it does sell. If so, I will contact the buyer to see if he wants to buy more! Just think about how many FB4s and scannermax galvos I could buy with $5K. Or a KVANT projector. Or 12 laser dock projectors.

Talk about buyers remorse - I seriously hope no one buys this for $5K!

Any of your yellow Vipers have the 609 nm Mystery Line?

It was probably that expensive, if not more back in the day. Lightwave Research gear was expensive. Remember the Intellabeams? Super expensive stuff way back when. He's smoking something good if he thinks it's still worth a 1/10 that price.

I don't know. I have 4 yellow vipers and 4 yellow laser chorus. I will have some time towards the end of the week and I'll check. Can I use a good glass diffraction grating to look for the additional line?

Yes very expensive originally, but they were very cool for their time. In 1988 I installed 6 of the original single beam laser chorus in the club I worked in. We paid $12,000! I remember that Red cost like $1000 each, and $1500 for green, yellow or orange and $3000 for the controller. I'm sure I'm off by a few dollars but I'm close. I'm sure high end charged more for the vipers even though they are essentially the same as laser chorus heads but with double ended HeNe tubes and 2x galvos.

Eric hey its Matt from STL. Saw your post on the guy selling those Vipers! Whoa that is crazy expensive! Dude must be living in the past with the description and prices LOL. I might be picking up another KVANT 3000 Clubmax. I hate to do it but they are the best worry free laser I have EVER dealt with. Well have a good one.. Later Matt

Maybe his wife said he needs to sell his stuff on ebay or she is leaving him. So he posted the items really high so he doesn't really have to sell his stuff and buy new furniture.

and because ebay wouldn't let him list his wife?
suppose you're thinkin' about a plate o' shrimp. Suddenly someone'll say, like, plate, or shrimp, or plate o' shrimp out of the blue, no explanation. No point in lookin' for one, either. It's all part of a cosmic unconciousness.
