Default SL2-100 communications protocol "industry standard"

    Hi,

the XY2-100 protocol is more or less known and also well-documented. Now some companies come up with a new interface and protocol, the SL2-100. It only has two lines DataIn+ and DataIn- plus two Lines DataOut+ and DataOut- and supports 20 bit scanner resolution.

Has anybody an idea how this protocol looks like and works? Any documentations out there that describes SL2-100 on data level?

    Thanks!

I know this question is somewhat old, but may be this helps a bit. SL2-100 is a serial protocol, it no longer makes use of separate lines for X, Y, clock, and sync. This image is from the official manual:

Not sure if that helps but that's what I know so far...

    Default SL2-100 standard or specifications

Anyone know where I can find a specification for the SL2-100 interface? Is this an industry standard and if so where can I find the standard? Where can one find the "official manual"?

Seems like it might be some proprietary protocol.

I'ts not SL2-100 but it seems there is a successor of the XY2-100 protocol available which supports 20 bit resolution (or more): https://www.halaser.de/haldrive.php

May be these guys are somewhat more responsive regarding this XY3-100 interface? And may be this is an alternative solution for your problem?

    Default XY3-100 Controller?

I know of this controller: Automation1 GI4 Laser Scan Head Interface | Aerotech. Has anybody ever used this to control an XY3-100 scan head / galvo scanner?

Aerotech is so expensive, so rare, that it would not have diffused into this forum. Only one scanner amp in the light show industry supports XY2-100, and that company only uses it in their internal products.

All I can tell you from past experience is that Aerotech makes ultra high quality products.

Sorry we are of no help.
