    Default Old Laser Artwork Documentation

This weekend I added a small bit of laser art history to the collection. It's a photographic slide showing a sculpture using laser light by Rockne Krebs in 1970. The work is described in "Art & Technology" by Maurice Tuchman, pages 164-184, linked below. Mr. Krebs, along with Joel Stein and Keiji Usami were artists using laser beams as sculptural elements in the late '60s. Usami's work is described in a previous thread here, also linked below. We all love laser beams here. These very early artists shared our passion for them and deserve credit. This slide represents what was probably the first use of the choreographed moving beams we all take for granted.
