That's pretty cool, DZ. Laser shows are definitely becoming more and more portable.

I'm not at all familiar with android stuff but have been looking at a few devices just to see if it works on them. When you say, "without the dongle," is there an android device that outputs 8 channel audio?

If anyone wants to give this a try I'll work on putting together a quick document for my website. In a discussion with someone else I can say that iTunes doesn't seem to like multichannel wave files and has a hard time transferring them. I used a 3rd party application to transfer the files to my phone.

And here's what happens when you get a phone call in the middle of a show!

You just need to buy his wav -> Ilda box and a USB3 to lighting cable.

    Hey DZ

When I said dongle I meant the lightning to USB adapter (or in Apple terms Dongle)

With Android you should be able to connec the USBstreamer device directly (but you will still need it)
and as Polishedball mentioned you can directly copy the files to the flash card

The only issue I see with the USBStreamer device is that you still need something to connect the fibre output to to breakout the channels, kinda ruins the portability aspect of it

A wireless (WIFI) ADC/DAC would solve the issue with the phone ringing as well make the device useful for pretty much any type of computer with a WIFI connection. Obviously, there are well documented reasons to avoid wifi and laser shows but if you just want to playback or capture the stream in a controlled setting it would probably work out pretty well. The issue with the phone ringing also affects the bluetooth speakers but I have seen some that are wifi based to avoid this very problem. But of course, you could simply turn off the phone (I assume) or use the device with something like a tablet (maybe even more practical in some aspects) that has no phone.
