We even have them up here in the North now! Although, they aren't quite as good as I remember... Different brand I think!

We have some that are made in a specific place ..you also have some low cost "cheap brand ones" they aren't really as good and very dry and crumbly.
I just checked Daelmans is from the netherlands but I never seen the brand in stores.

Oh, I had my PL account since 2007, and my LPF account since 2008.

I was working with Lasers since 1983, I went to school, I had jobs, I have now my own company with offices in Bulgarian and Romania. I am from Manchester in the UK.

I have done lots of shows, maybe a few thousand. Project managed shows in stadiums and city centers, and my businesses are growing.

Would you like my CV or my girlfriends facebook address?

I wonder, what is in the mind of guys who try so very hard and loose so much time to try and insult others. Of course you have some motivation.

in time like all truth your motivation will come out, just like it has over the years with other members, on all the other forums. So I sit back and enjoy your comments.

My new forum HobbyLasers is not going to go away so get use to it.

    All the Best to you

Andy the Admin of HobbyLasers.Com a new forum dedicated to keeping idiots out :-))
I was going to stay out of it but I have to reply to you with this as you keep making up insults that aren't really there. Let's look at the group buys purpose real quick that you and arg did: To test the limits, expectations, optical information and ending with a raffle to a random chosen winner of the new 520 diode. How in anyway would I then insinuate that you bought the diode from DTR and resold it at a higher price? You didn't even buy the diode, the people a part of the group buy did. I don't understand your line of thinking. But I keep reading that thread of the groupbuy and how arrogant you were. You couldn't even admit your mistakes, why would you now?

I hate to say it but you're making yourself look more and more like an ass the more you post. I don't know much about your past or who you helped but with what I have seen, you have created your own persecutions. People aren't trying to be mean to you they are calling out the BS. Even the admin of this forum called you out and let me tell you something else that I hope you will take to heart: If you think calling people idiots on both PL and LPF will make your forum popular, you got a hard lesson to learn. Anyone in their right mind would stay away from dealing with someone like that and you can keep personal and family info to yourself. I don't want that information.

I admit I was worried about another forum but I quickly got over that and sent you a message asking if you wanted to combine our efforts. I only wanted to know who someone with only 2 posts wanted to create another forum. You'll find many people wondering who the new guy is that's why it's always welcomed to create a welcome thread to say a little bit about yourself because we are all people getting to know one another in open discussion.

We now know why you hid your real identity. Everything so far has been nothing but cover up after cover up because you know you've butted head with many people already and given that information you would risk your forum so you decided to deceive and lie, again. I would really like to see you apologize for your behavior to everyone and work together to help people properly learn all aspects of the hobby but I doubt that will happen.

I really hope everything will work out because I truly would rather see people uplift each other than tear each other down.

Bringing stroopwafels is always a yes.

Hobbylasers sounds like quite the censored forum already that's dedicated purely to what it's "admin" wants to see and possibly purely for his own benefit. Not much of a community spirit I'd say and very much a (paranoid?) controlling behaviour if you'd ask me! If anything this thread only serves as a great warning to people that sock puppeting isn't respected and as an indicator that it's creator is only here to benefit himself and only stands for his own beliefs and doesn't know shame after being caught red handed.
Glad to hear you're doing great with a well paying career. Hey that sounds great. If you save up enough to free you up some time you could make an LEM. I didn't get to go but I still have the shirt.

That's cool. I'll have to give them a try.
Yeah Zach told me you're doing another LEM in florida. Do you plan on discontinuing SELEMs in the future or are you still going to host once a year?

Oh, don't worry! SELEM isn't going anywhere. But I also host other Laser Enthusiast's Meetings when and where I can. The Florida meets are easy because I have a place to stay in Tavares that is within walking distance of the venue we use, and the place costs me less than $200 to rent. So, yeah, FLEMs are easy to set up.

SELEM is a much bigger production, of course, which is why we have to charge people for admission. (The budget typically exceeds 5 grand these days.) But even so, it's also a hugely popular event, so I plan to keep doing it as long as I can. (And should there ever come I time when I can't do it, I know a few folks that would probably be willing to take it over for me in my absence.) It's gotten so large now that it's a huge group effort anyway, and those guys aren't going to just let the event die.

Yes, I'm resigned to the fact that we've collectively created a monster.

It's the Dayton of lasers for the hams who know what I mean. I'd like to get there just once.

I actually just read this whole thread and god knows I will never get that time back. This forum rocks. I've been a member for a long time and do not have plans to go elsewhere.
Did I get this right. Just checking. Andy came on as hobbylaser advertising a new forum and then got in a fight with himself and stuck up for himself to make it look like hobbylaser was being targeted?
I must have read that wrong that just seems silly.

I belong to three saltwater reef forums. I usually frequent one over the others. I hope I don't have to start looking in three laser forums to find information. Two is plenty though I am only a member here. I always felt the other one was kind of nasty and this one kind of a community....most of the time.

As for selling something for more than you paid for it well that good sirs is called capitalism. Can't fault a man for putting bread on the table. You can however fault a man for being sneaky. I'm trying to be objective here as I really don't know andy much to be truthful. I've seen him contribute in the past but over the last few years he seems a bit jaded. I wish you luck and understand your feelings that you have been taken for a ride and there isn't money to be had here and the laser world is just so unfair. Well great luck on your business. This is an always will be for me a hobby. My definition of hobby is doing something I like and never making a penny doing it. I however also have a job that pays my bills and it has nothing to do with lasers.

Why would it have been so had to come on as andy and say hey guys I got a new forum I put together. I know this ones great too but come on over and check it out. Why the underhanded use of a different name. Doing that makes my skin crawl and for me to stay away. Sort of like "here little kid have a sucker, just a little closer now, that's it, GOT YA."

I'm not being mean here. This just seems very weird to me. And now as I hit send I feel weird I even replied.
