I have been wanting to get the wicked laser visualizer dongle for some time now. I could have sworn the original price for the bare dongle was 99$ now it appears to be 299$. Anyone have one of these they would like to sell?

At $99 it was an interesting curiosity. I think at $299 they're competing with stuff much better. That's not far off QS with an FB3-QS, and some of the more open source dongles are better options at that price point. Methinks they sold like hotcakes and now they've got greedy

I thought it fitting, considering the rocky terrain.
What do you think then John?
Pitching higher in the marketplace? Found that dev costs for the software are going to be higher than expected?

Thanks guys for all the info and help. Quick help! I got a pm and in the middle of payment. I am glad I was able to get one of these units. I will state I am in no way a fan of wicked laser products. I just feel this is a fairly unique product that gives me memories of window media visualizer. I have not used one yet but it also seems to be not the safest of products. So it will ve used carefully. But give me a campfire.. an inverter.. good music.. and a few good friends.
Its a Loss Leader.. Sell low to get you interested, then raise the price... Classic Marketing tactic.
Same reason hotdogs/sausages and buns are sold cheap during summer season, so the grocers make money selling the soda pop, charcoal, potato salad, Beer etc...
Especially the Beer!

suppose you're thinkin' about a plate o' shrimp. Suddenly someone'll say, like, plate, or shrimp, or plate o' shrimp out of the blue, no explanation. No point in lookin' for one, either. It's all part of a cosmic unconciousness.
But my point stands. The software developing around it is also compatible with other DACs that I'd rather own over the LaserDock for that price.
I've used my LaserDock on a job, using Maxwell and their own software that night, but I still see the LaserDock as a bit 'toytown' compared to other offerings. Personally I would think hard about spending $299 on a dongle over one of the others.
