Viasho 1.5Watt laser

Hello dudes!

I just received the 1.5 Watt from Viasho!
As I stated before and I say it again: I must say their service has been above all others companies that I have delt with. I also got the impression from others, that their lasers has better quality than CNI.

The laser was shipped out with DHL, June 28.
And I received it to day, that is 6 days ago! Really fast by DHL.
Normally it take 11 to 14 days from China to Norway.

I did test the laser (with an lasercheck) and got theese readings.
(checked 3 times)
1A @ 334mW @ 327mW @ 330mW
2A @ 671mW @ 675mW @ 670mW
3A @ 993mW @ 998mW @ 996mW

Since the lasercheck dont go above 1 Watt, I can't check 4 and 5A
But I figured it will do about 1670mW @ 5A
NOT BAD for an 1.5Watt laser!!

The PSU is a bit noisy, perhapes I will modify it to an more silent one later.
Time will show

In total, Viasho delivers a great product.
And the price for this beauty?? Ask Frank or Nono shen @ this forum!

Will do more test later. Must play with the laser now

This is a strange thing!
After I have received my new powermeter (thermal detector)
I tested it on CNI 200mW laser and laser-wave lasers and maxyz modules.
CNI tested above 200mW the laser-wave lasers tested also above the stated power. Maxyz tested 230mW. Even my 10mW pointer tested 11mW
BUT, when I tested my Viasho 1.5 Watt laser I was very dissapointed.
It barely reached 1 watt at 5A WHAT THE FU*K!!!

Last time I checked with EO powermeter an all looks fine. Maby I did something wrong with the settings??
BUT 966mW of output?? I removed the DT40Pro galvos and tested again.
Yeah..I gained around 30mW more. FU*K!! FU*K!! FU*K!!

Since I have recived the laser I have used it for maby 1 hour for testing etc..
On the picture I have been running the laser for 45mins!!

Anyone got any good ideas???

Must still be under warranty I guess BUT here is the rub, dealing with warranty claims in China given their duty / import tax leaves you in a tricky situation.
You will either have to pay up the Chinese import duty which I am told is around 30% OR you have to lie to the Chinese customs and possibly risk losing the laser. This is not so bad with cheaper lasers but when you get to the $1000 + jobs it will hurt.

I have exactly the same problem. Purchased a Viasho laser via a dealer, it turned out to be a second hand one (fan covered in dirt).. want to send it back Viasho and dealer willing to swap it out (even for a slightly higher powered one) but with freight and Chinese tax is it worth it ??

My dealer wants me to send it back to China not to him that shifts the load from the dealer who has made a dollar margin to the client (me) to sort it.

Be wary of "drop" dealers who ship to you direct from China in regards to warranties you are no better off than dealing with China direct.

Interestingly ALL of my Chinese lasers exhibit some undesired artifacts both the Viasho units (1.7w & 1.5w) and the CNI (500mw & 250mw).. Things like tiny stray beams out the side, mode hopping, artifacts and of course second hand when it should be new...

Finally, it worked out!
After some few tests while talking to Frank online..we found out there whas a problem with the unit. Sad but true.
Viasho is sending me an replacement!
That is really good service as usuall from Viasho!

Perhaps it's time for a manufacturer vote/poll to back that kind of statement up? Topics like:

Claimed power/actual power
Long term reliability
Customer service
Issues/problems
Quality of engineering/finish

etc.
