Default Image Engineering to ILDA Adapter

Image Engineering to ILDA adapter schematic is attached. Quick and dirty, first attempt at using KiCAD. Sorry.

Image Engineering connector on the cable I checked the pinout on is an AMP 26-1323, male. The other side DB25 female.

    Pinout is as follows:

    Code:
    IE ILDA
    ------------
    1 N/C
    2 N/C
    3 N/C
    4 N/C
    5 18, 19, 20, 25
    6 18, 19, 20, 25
    7 1
    8 14
    9 2
    10 15
    11 5
    12 6
    13 7
    14 N/C
    15 N/C
    16 N/C
Hope it may be useful for others someday.

Thanks Brad! Just the ticket for dealing with the Image Engineering "Aurora" gear from the trip to Washington.
Yep, we have a working Aurora, running on a Mac Quadra.
    !
I just got a Farallon Etherwave module on Ebay that will hopefully let me network the Quadra from the AAUI port. Hopefully I can find a working 10 Base T hub or a older hub that it will talk to, otherwise its adapting to the Mac Floppy or the Zip Drive. That way I can get the data for "RX-7"

suppose you're thinkin' about a plate o' shrimp. Suddenly someone'll say, like, plate, or shrimp, or plate o' shrimp out of the blue, no explanation. No point in lookin' for one, either. It's all part of a cosmic unconciousness.

    Steve,

Thanks for noticing that adapter laying there. If it wasn't for that, we may have had to break out the scope to figure it out.

10BaseT hub... If you have issues, let me know. I have a plethora of older networking equipment laying around.

I also have a ton of Zip Drives, from PC based IDE, to an external parallel port, to a 'modern' USB version. If it's Zip disks we need to read, we can surely accomplish that.

BTW... What is RX-7? A show title? Software title? Filename? Maybe it's an awesome show, centered around a third gen RX7, with Initial D style race scenes.

    Thanks,
    Brad

Being 10baseT any modern network switch should still have backwards compatibility for it

10baseT is a layer 2 network protocol so a switch will still pass the traffic

The SR-75 AURORA is a 93 foot long, 75 foot wingspan, hypersonic aircraft built by Testors Titainium for the US Air Force. Although the first flight was in the early 1990s, Scheduling demands in producing the developmental F-119 prototype, later to become the F-19, pushed the program back to squadron service in the early 2000's

Hum, I checked and you are on distribution list "C"

Some day you'll have a need to know...
    ~
Seriously, when I know more, you and PL will know more... Drives a very sophisticated external rack mounted DAC and is based around a Mac Quadra 650... There are three programs used with it, and one of them is Aurora. I've been asked to recover the artwork by its previous owner. Considering who did the artwork, (Ms. Jennifer did superb graphics) the stuff is "priceless " in terms of Laser Show History. Once I do that, hardware details are cleared for public consumption. It is a "Fenning" so you know its good. Brad was there when I picked it up. When we sorted thru the pile o'stuff Brad needed the adapter more then I did, so it went home with him. I asked him to reverse engineer it, so we got the RGB portion of the signals correct.

If your nice, maybe Brad might shoot you pictures of "Horizon", on the other hand perhaps not a good idea to show certain overseas manufacturers how to do that... Used improperly, by mere Djs, there is a bit of a hazard, its not a toy.
