Hi all. As a X LD i have played with a bunch of different strobe units. I however have not played with those monsters. WOW!! And the cdrh freaks out about anything above 5mw Glad they don't know about these!!

Anyway I have used the martin strobe lots and like it very much. It is plenty bright and pretty cheap.

During a show they live a lot longer than the data flash, before the thermal time out kicks in.

Sorry Steve, afraid not.
I am pretty sure it is IC based circuit though, not just a pot like on most strobes.

I do have a Hungaroflash 8 channel (DMX & analogue) programmable strobe controller that is surplus to requirements though

Blinders are normally a couple of rows of 1K Halogen Floods/Wash's, usually in banks of 10 or 20 across the top back of the stage. Never anything special Look great tho

Erm says who? The blinders we use are actually acl bulbs in bands of 2x1, 2x2 or 2x4 with normal generic light hanging points, heck for one band I put our big smoke machine and a couple of molefay under the drummer riser... Blinders are the same as everything else, they are only as good as you make them, they dont have to be in ordinary positions.

Might help give you some idea of how many you need for the effect you're looking for.
