I have just found some 250mW red diode modules @ $159 plus shipping. Specs are-

Wavelength : 650nm RED
Output power (mW) @ 25C : 250mW
Operating Current (mA) : 330ma
Operating Voltage : 3.0 - 5.0V DC
Operation Mode : CW
Modulation Mode:
Analog or TTL > 10khz
Beam Divergence > 0.4 mrad
Output Power Stability < 1.0%

Hi,andy_con
let us attention this ,the operating current is only 330mA,and the power is 250mW,that will not be true,I bet it.
Best regards!

It could be true. The only reason lesser diodes fall off to the point where that isn't true is because they're being driven to the point where the ratio of current to power changes too much. If an overdriven diode's fall of output versus current still allows 220 mW even after a lens, with 330 mA in, it's not hard to see that a diode properly rated for such outputs might be efficient enough to manage an extra 30 mW at same current.

I've heard rumor (maybe from CPF or this forum) that the seller is selling underpowered lasers. I heard that the actual power output might only be around half of the stated figure. Just something to consider. Especially since this laser is pretty cheap so this rumor could very well be true. Anyone wanna be the guinea pig ?

You should post a link if you heard that. It isn't cool to post rumors about something someone is trying to sell unless its the truth. I know what modules andy is selling and as far as I know they are legit. I am buying one from him.
