Small correction, the 1pm Friday session is on the basics of DMX, not specifically with laser.

Will arrangements be made to record some of the talks? Primarily interested in the Z-5 analog console demo, laser image synth demo, advanced scanner tuning, laser abstract mathematics, mercury demo, LSX tricks and glow in the dark talks.

Oh do you wall want a short presentation on free software that can run on a rpi and act as an artnet endpoint and then cross over to physical DMX-512? In addition as an added bonus it can convert and generate KiNet for communicating to Color Kinetics power supplies for control of their hardware.

    Ethan - sounds cool!

As for recording the presentations, we can try. It's always a matter of finding someone who doesn't mind running the camera though. Most of the time people are so engrossed in what is going on that they forget about the camera. But maybe we could set one on a tripod at least.?.

I can record my presentations at least and will happily throw them on youtube afterwards.

I have at least a dozen SELEM talks that I recorded over the years and never posted because I wanted to do some editing and never got around to it. Last year I got a nice microphone to improve audio and never used it because I was too busy or engaged to set it up. I will bring my recording gear again this year and try again.

That said, not publishing the video should encourage attendance to SELEM in person, right??

I'm coming, I'm bringing notch filter and amp tuning gear, emphasis on Notch Filters and Position Sensors and how they impact tuning.
    Aiming to be there Thursday-Friday

Priceless! We should get nametags that say "Black Polo Mafia"...

    Which one?

I think Jeff has two now. One is pretty badly damaged, but the other one was in decent shape. Both still in storage...

Also, there definitely was another one in Columbia, SC a few years back as part of the Laser room in the Museum. No idea what happened to it after the exhibit closed though. So that's 3 out of the 10 or 11 that were produced...

Mixedgas is bringing the HP Time Domain Analysis Machie to do the shaft resonance testing and a Transfer Standard LPM. Check the calibration on your cheap LPM... You supply the laser source. Maybe a beam profiler too.. Yeah, I'll bring the profilers.. They also measure divergence.
