Default high precision screws, taps and drill bits?

Hey all. Few questions for ya.

    1) What are the high precision screws for optics usually called so I can find them and order?

    2) Are the dimensions at all standardized like regular drill, tap and screw sizes, or are they unique from company to company?

I need to drill holes in aluminum and have screws with sub-micron sensitivity for aligning LCOS panels illuminated by laser diodes.

If not those.. Then use barrel micrometers... Differential Actuators, Piezo, or buy a motion stage from Newport... Sub Micron is tough...
