    Default First Green Laser Pointer?

I was just looking through some old Laser Focus magazines for information about the Cu laser just posted, and came across this pic of what I think is the first green laser pointer. Certainly the earliest one I've seen! I'm going to have to find out if it was offered commercially.

In the article associated with the pic above, it was mentioned that a company named Laser Diode Products planned on commercializing a green laser pointer in 1987. I found a paper written by a guy who worked there at the time and contacted him about it. He said no commercial pointer was made by them in the late-'80s.

Karl Rothweiler (known to many here) has the oldest green laser pointer I've seen. His is quasi-CW and from 1998. I know LaserMax was offering green laser collimators for telescopes around 1995, and they were very, very expensive compared to the red collimators they sold then. Karl paid lots for his. Anyway, the hunt is still on for the first commercial green laser pointer.
