    Default 3W @ 635nm

    Found this diode array that outputs into a fiber tail. Any idea how easy or otherwise to collumate the beam into something usable? 3 watts of read sounds good to me. They also do a 5W 670nm version.

    I have a 3 watt 660 fibre coupled , and got one of these
    320142337303 on ebay for it. Auction ends in four hours ! Specs are on the Newport site.

    How much did it go for?
    Can you put collimating optics at the fibre end?

    <edit> nevermind- I just saw the MG collimator. A bit pricey, that.
    I'm still wondering how much the 3 watt 660s go for though...

    I actually have 2 collimators for this purpose. And from the picture I can see that even the end of fiber optic cable is the same.

    If the fiber core is 50 microns or less you can get a good collimated beam about 5mm dia. and maybe 1.5mrad or less divergence.
