405nm....you can barely see it... it's very deep into UV spectrum. Very useless for anything but science research and such.
I am afraid that power is a little small. do you have much higher power?
I dunno man... spec's 25mW pointer and marconi's 25mW module looked very good to me. Very purdy, and the beam was visible to a point. 60mW would be bright enough to impress. Although I'd like at least 100mW to add to my projector. Maybe two of these combigned.
Dr. I built myself one of those 405 modules. I would imagine it is putting out some ware around 10 mw or so, don't have a meter any more. Anyway even being so little power at an inefficient wavelength it is a glorious color. One of the cool things about it is almost everything fluoresces, so it seems brighter than it really is. Now I wouldn't want to use it in a real show but it is a really neat color in my house.
I would love to have one of those 60mw versions.

For good color balance you would need around 7 times the power of green. So basically 60mw of 405nm is equal to 10mw of 532nm of visible light. Like I said cool to show off good for research but useless for lasershows. If you use this laser in 1W balanced RGB you would need 500mw RED 300mw GREEN and 2W of this BLUE!!!. Too expensive.!
But still a great toy!
I wouldn't use it for my only blue. I'd like to create a color scheme that would include it. Add a little more "depth" to deep purple. I doubt you could color balance it anyway. I don't see how you could get your true blue from it.
