Default Stan wax CAT5 adapter cables

I just read the instruction manual from stanwax regarding his cat-5 ilda adapter. The manual refers to Cat5 cables not how they should be crimped. My assumption is that they should be crimped as patch cables. Not crossover cables or anything else. Is this correct? And by patch cable, I mean orange white, orange, green white, blue, blue white green, brown white, brown.

Seems like it would depend on what you are plugging it into. Otherwise, I think the main thing is to make sure that x/- pairs are twisted.

Not sure what you mean, There's only one thing you plug it into. Which is another stanwax ilda adapter. They come in pairs.

Both ends need to be the same. You can use 568A or 568B. Just make them the same. (So yeah, patch, not cross-over.)

    Thanks Buffo,

Rob also replied to me via email

    Hi Alec

Two rounds of thanks for you...
Firstly thanks for actually looking at the manual, its amazing how many
questions I am asked that would be answered if the manual was simply looked
    at.
Secondly thanks for pointing out this shortcoming of the manual, I see a
    revision in the pipeline.
So finally to answer the question a regularly wired TIA/EIA-568-B cable (not
a crossover) will work. They have been designed to work with regular off the
shelf patch cable or leads made up to the 568 b standard.

    I hope this helps

    All the best

So the shortest answer is "Yes, a standard patch cable will work"
