Basically to the eye, it looked like a 4 to 1 ratio for brightness, just under 400mW of 660 to just under 100mW of 635 looked almost exactly the same including color. They looked 99% the same. To the camera it was a little different. The 635 does look "orangish" on tape, but in person, to the eye, there was no difference. I'll try to get the clip uploaded in a day or so.

I don't have anything from day 2. No still pictures, and no video either. The only pics I've seen from Day 2 so far are the ones I got from Hayden. (They're in my gallery)

David, we could always re-do the 635 nm vs 660 nm test over again at FLEM 1.5 in October. (Working date right now is October 20th...)

Aaron, remember that David's projector has a 200 mw 635 nm laser in it, not a 100 mw one. My projector has the dual Maxyz modules, so yeah, I was pushing 400 mw of 660 nm... (Not sure where he had his color balance set though)

I do remember them looking almost exactly the same though. Very close color and almost exactly the same brightness. In fact, I seem to recall that I originally thought his projected image was coming from my projector... That's how close they were in apperance.

I thought the first measurement was 100mW or less... but yea, the first measurment is 54mW and yours was just under 400... per the video.

so 54 mw of 635 = 400mw 660 in brightness to the eye??
hard to believe, or am I not reading that right?

I thought he re-calibrated his color balance to get a full 200 mw out of it??? Does that show on the video? Maybe David can chime in here with more details... I was working on the HGM 5 Argon at the time and only glanced over there a couple of times. But I do remember David saying that his color balance needed to be adjusted to get full red output.

Yea, but the video I took is at the beginning. He says he measured it after the galvos and it was 54mW. I think he recalibrated it and ran it again after I turned the tape off.

You got it right. That's what it says on the video, or what david says... on the video...

    Cool

I think I want a re-match! I remember looking over and seeing the two projected images, and thinking that they looked about the same, but I could have sworn it was after David re-calibrated his color balance. I could be wrong though, but nevertheless I want a re-match!

You've got my curiosity up now... We absolutely *must* do this at FLEM 1.5 in October! And we need to get good video of both the projected images *and* the power measurements.

According to this chart, looks to be about .06 for 660nm and .22 for 635 so thats 3.66 X brighter; so 109mw 635=400mw 660.. unless my math is wrong
