Low cost/entry level ilda controllers

I have had several ilda style controller's over the years and some are decent but others are just counterfeit or garbage....my option at the moment is to build a old pc to house the old isa slot and parallel port technology...running old school alpha software from Rick at laser illusions on a old tower with win 2000 was the most stable and easy system I've used ...I know I'm going to have break down and buy the big boy software...but this gear is good wish I could use it.......ishow 2.3 was decent...the new hardware for 3.0 ishow is counterfeit garbage ..stay clear v6

I've been seeing this technology using a a sound card ...don't understand it much...interested in hearing about it ?

Basically you can get a USB sound device that does 7.1 surround sound for less than $20 and you have an 8 channel 48KHz 16-bit dac. You add a correction amp to it and you can stream to it live with some apps or play wave files like the ones you can make with LaserBoy. I sell a very nice kit of the correction amp.

Are the modified sound cards hard to come by?

I have this old sound blaster 5.1 that I could sacrifice ...I could get the hardware built if I had schematic. Maybe..lol

You need to get the direct voltage from each channel of the dac. You might be able to do it with that, but the USB SND8 with the CM6206 chip is very easy to mod and can be found on aliexpress for less than $20.

It's a sound device!

It's generic. It's an open standard. It works in any OS.
