    Default FB4 versions

Quick question for anyone using FB4 interfaces. Is the difference between the base model and the ones with ilda and or dmx I/o simply an add-on connector block? What I mean is the functionality also disabled on the base unit ? I want to up swap jn an FB4 on one of my lasers but they already have ilda and dmx I/o…I’m pretty confident I can cross wire the existing onto the new FB4

If the existing parts in the projector are for an FB4 then they will work.
If they are just generic connectors then they won't.

You are using Bonetti's defense against me, ah?

I thought it fitting, considering the rocky terrain.

The DMX I-O on some/most of the Pangolin FB Boards are bare 3.3V TTL logic lines, (supposedly) and you'll need the EIA-485 / RS-485 Physical Protocol Chips aka Level Translators - Line Receivers, and maybe a Power Supply module or voltage regulator for the +5 volts or more required by the physical layer. . By the time you do that, the factory daughterboard is a cheap option. In other words, just wiring the connectors up won't work, there is actual circuitry to build. The manual for mine says DMX In and DMX Out, Logic level.

Buy the DMX adapter from Pango if your projector does not already have one.
