Yowsa! I seem to recall that a 171 is capable of something like 25 watts (assuming an argon fill, all lines). So a pair of them in series would be close to 50 watts, yes?
Man, that would make for a very long cavity! I'm guessing that alignment would be tricky as hell.
Then there's the small matter of having enough 480V 3 phase power (not to mention cooling water!) for a pair of those monster SP-270 exciters...
