    Another dumb one

    How do you determine scanner scanning angle

    It is in specs sheet. Most galvos will do 20 but some will 40....CT for ex. will do 40.

    Damn... I can never find this page on the site... "scan angle" Make it easier to search that way...

    If you want to determine the angle based on what you are projected do this.

    (1) Measure height or width and divide it by 2 and call that value Y.
    (2) Measure distance from image to scanner mirrors and call it X.
    (3) Divide Y by X and do inverse tan to get an angle.
    (4) The angle you get is physical scanner angle.
    (5) Double the angle to get the optical angle.

    All of this is based on the formula: tan(angle) = opp / adjacent.

    I hope my math is right because that's how I do it at home.

    I like to use the little table on the Pangolin site. I always seem to look for it there and can never find it. Then I come here and search for a post where dave has it linked... I know he has done it a few times.
