Ability to edit user name

If we had the ability to edit our user names to something different, if desired, that would be great.

There is no exposable function to allow users here to change their name as there are a lot deeply embedded things that ride on top of the unique user id string. But I can change it manually if needed. This process will involve completely logging out your account here and then waiting a couple minutes for everything in the background to be altered before logging back in with your new credentials.
