    Default DB25 Cable

    Hi Guys,

Can anyone tell me the cheapest place to get DB25 cable? Preferably with the connectors attached (I'm lazy and in a rush). I'm looking for 50 - 100 Mtrs depending on cost.

Im asuming that you mean for use as a ILDA connector on a projector ?

If that is the case, i cant tell you where to buy as I made my own. but if you are using it for that over a 50 -100m distance you really need to be using the Differential outputs from your D/A and into your amplifiers and also make sure they use the same twisted pairs, also its good to have each twisted pair individually screened, this also applies to the colour lines if its analogue and RGB

without the above you will pickup so much electrical noise it will distort the images

    hope this helps .... Karl

I have an event coming up and need to connect the projector on stage to the Pangolin which will be front of house.

I have Medialas wide move 180 galvo's which are connected differentially and I have also screened every cable in the projector.

    Cool

With a long run like that, I'd suggest a MAX SPEC cable. It's got DB-25 connectors on each end, but instead of only having 25 wires inside, it's got 50 wires. Each signal wire is twisted with a ground wire that is conencted to the connector shield. I've used these cables for excessively long SCSI runs before with good results. (This was back in the day before LVD SCSI 3 existed!)

Any on-line cable manufacturing company ought to be able to build you a max spec cable. Can't really recommend a specific vendor though, because it's been over a decade since I've ordered anything like that.

I need a cable but only about 1 ft long. I can't find them less than 3 or 6 ft. If I want to make my own what kind of wire and connectors should I use? I would want it to look professional and not like a bunch of wires soldered to a DB25 connector.

Use ribbon cable and idc connectors?
