    Default Pangolin LD2000 & Winamp - HELP!!

    Hi

    I'm just settling in with my new QM2000.net and LD2000 system. I'm trying to get the system working with WinAmp so that I can get those nice visualisations. Can anyone give me a step by step guide to getting WinAmp to work within the LD2000 environment?

    Many thanks

    Jem

    Did you install the winamp plugin for LD2000?
    If yes, it should install the plugin automatic in winamp.

    Anyway, in winamp. open options ->visualizations->select plugin
    Here you should see the "AVS/Laser v2.5.1 [vis_avs_laser.dll]" plugin
    select it and press start.

    If you dont see the "AVS/Laser v2.5.1 [vis_avs_laser.dll]" you need to install it from the LD2000 CD
    You find it at: \LD2000_Extras\Winamp file called Winamp_AVS-Laser_Install.

    Install it and you should be up and running with it

    BTW: congrats with the LD2000 system

    Thanks

    I realise now where I was going wrong. I had the plugin installed but I thought you could access winamp through Showtime. Once I read your posting I realised that this is not the case and that you have to run the visualisations directly from Winamp.

    I love the visualisations, they are Soooo cool

    Cheers

    Question

    Hey jem... did you ever try the "formula" I got from DZ for the osilliscope?

    AllWhich...

    The problem was I didn't know what to do with it because I couldn't get Winamp to work. This was due to the fact I thought it 'shelled' out from Showtime. Once I realised that you need to run Winamp as a standalone program I got it sorted.

    I haven't tried the 'code' you suggested as yet due to getting distracted by all the other lovely visualisations

    I'll get around to it eventually - sorry.

    Cheers

    This is what AllThat posted...

    There doesn't seem to be a default osilliscope for the Winamp plugin. DZ gave me the "code" he uses and it is perfect from what I can tell. I may have it in a PM that I can forward or post. I will look for it but may have to copy it from my laser show computer when I get home from work it... 3 or so hours...

    edit:

    Here is what he gave me...

    Init: n=150; tv=0; dtv=0; tvs=0.0;
    On Beat: tvs=-sign(tvs);
    Per Frame: tv=tv*0.97+tvs*0.03;
    Per Point: x=(i-.5)*2; y=-sin(i*3.14159)*tv+v*1.2;

    Good luck!

    Many of the AVS presets that work for video will also work with laser in winamp.

    Lightbulb

    I have been meaning to install the first "g force" vis plug in to see if it worked, but have been too lazy and too happy with what is there...

    The guy that wrote Winamp (Justin Frankel) is also the guy that wrote the plug-in for the Pangolin QM-2000 board. (Yeah, Justin is a Pangolin owner and laser enthusiast... How cool is that?)

    Ever notice that when you go to download new plug-ins for AVS there's always a shitload of really great one's by a guy named "Justin"? Yep - same guy.

    I can't wait to try out the new visualisation plug in... Gotta fix a little wiring problem in my projector first though.
